  1. As you mention “Kriegsdienstverweigerer” and what happened to them – it counted as “undermining military force” and was punishable by deportation to concentration camps or death. An example for conscientious objectors who is quite well-known in Austria is Franz Jägerstätter, who objected to military service on religious grounds and was beheaded in 1943.
